Digital expansion

Saturday, 3 February 2018

Bangladesh has been moving forward on many fronts including online-based services in all sectors. In fact, online-based services have been playing a crucial role behind our socio-economic development. It all started with different shopping sites and e-commerce sites and later many other non-business organisations also followed suit.
Different new online services are being added up and recently a new dimension was opened through transport services. As public transports are insufficient and sub-standard in the cities online transport facility provided by some companies brought a most welcome change in the situation. Online ticket booking was already available a couple of years ago and with the launching of online food ordering, online services have taken a steep upward turn.
Moreover the government of Bangladesh has also come forward to digitalise all its activities as part of its mission of digitalisation down to the grass root level. Bangladesh Railway online site has been recently enriched and work/project tenders can now be submitted online. This has brought down the extent of corruption in implementing public works and development projects. Recently both private and public organisations are seen focusing more on online transactions to be consistent with the digital world.
