Digital glitch halts DSE trading

Share trading on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) halted at 10:35am today (Sunday) after five minutes of trading following a digital glitch, a DSE official said. “Due to the technical problem, today’s (April 13, 2014) market has been halted. Starting time of trading at the DSE will be announced later,” said a statement posted on the DSE website. The DSE official said that the day’s trading will be restarted as soon as the technical problem is solved. However, trading on the port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – started on time and continued as usual. The CSE witnessed positive trend at early session. The Selective Category Index – CSCX – gained 10.43 points to stand at 8,911.14 points, at 11am after first 30 minutes of trading. Of the issues traded till then, 31 gained, 31 declined and 12 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 37.16 million.
