Digital wave creates huge demand of laptops in N-dists

RANGPUR, May 23 (BSS): The wave and success of ongoing digitalisation process achieved so far have created huge enthusiasm among the young generations including students creating huge demand of low-cost laptops in the northern districts.
Tens of hundreds of people from all walks of life in the society have been eagerly waiting to avail the low-cost laptops at Tk 12,000 per unit which are to appear in the local markets from the next month.
Being sensitized from the digital innovation fairs already held in Rangpur, Dinajpur, Kurigram, Panchagarh, Union Information Service Centres (UISCs) and computer labs in the schools, the youths and students are dreaming to purchase low- cost laptops.
Youths, students and commoners said that the digitalisation process has created an exceptional peoples' demand and the people are getting all government services easily at their doorsteps now from the UISCs despite frustrating internet speeds.
Because of success of the Access to Information (A2I) Programme, a digital wave now sweeps everywhere and the students, youths, farmers, men and women, professionals, teachers and everyone are easily getting the e-services and dreaming for laptops.
Now, the common people also know National Project Director of A2I Programme Nazrul Islam Khan as he easily explained the Vision 2021 as envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to reach all services to the peoples' doorsteps without hassle.
Students Shilpi Akhter, and Shujan Barman, said that they already got computer training from Moidandighee UISC under Boda Upazila in Panchagarh under computer trainers Ariful Islam and Sabiha Sabrina.
"We are now dreaming to set up our own computer shops after purchasing laptops side by side continuing studies," they said adding that Information and Communication Technology and digital facilities must be available for all for a digital Bangladesh.
Class ten (Science) students Tasnia Phairuz Sershi, Shikha Rani, Afsana Mimi and Brisiti Rani at their computer lab in Boda Pilot Girls' School told that they could not think life now without computer knowledge and are dreaming for laptops.
