Dilshan fined for showing dissent

Sri Lankan opener Tillakaratne Dilshan has been fined 20 per cent of his match fee for breaching the players' code of conduct during the game against New Zealand in Chittagong, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said. Dilshan was found to have shown dissent at an umpire's decision during his team's 59-run win over New Zealand in the Group one match which lifted Sri Lanka into the semi-finals. "The incident happened in the fourth over, when Dilshan rubbed his elbow after the ball deflected off his gloves to the wicketkeeper to indicate that the ball had not touched his gloves," an ICC release said. The level 1 charge was brought by on-field umpires Rod Tucker of Australia and Aleem Dar of Pakistan, third umpire Bruce Oxenford and reserve umpire Steve Davis -- both from Australia, according to AFP.
