Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni Sunday expressed her firm optimism that China would materialise the Kunming Initiative and take quick steps for physically linking Bangladesh and China by road and rail networks, reports BSS.
In a meeting with a delegation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) at her office, she urged for Chinese support to agriculture, climate change management, renewable energy and infrastructure development.
Member of the Central Committee of the CPC and Secretary of Gansu Provincial Committee Lu Hao led the visiting delegation, official sources said.
The foreign minister admired the blending of tradition with development of new technology in China and urged the Chinese leader to request their trading community to invest more in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh offers attractive tax regime and legal facilities along with cheap and efficient labour force for investors, she said.

The foreign minister also reaffirmed Bangladesh's commitment to "One China Policy".
A visiting delegation of House of Representatives of Japan also called on Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni at her office Sunday.
They discussed various aspects of bilateral relations, including trade and investment, and Japanese support for construction of the Padma Bridge and expansion of Dhaka-Chittagong Highway and rail lines.
