Turkey would start direct flights between Dhaka and Istanbul later this year for boosting business between the two countries, a press release said.
M Rifat Hisarciklioglu, president of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (UCCET), disclosed this in a meeting Saturday with Industries Minister Dilip Barua in the city.
"To search the criterion of bilateral trade and commerce, a team from Bangladesh will visit Turkey soon," Mr Barua said.
He called up on the entrepreneurs of Turkey to come forward in joint ventures and invest in the country's booming ship building, textile, automobiles and carpet industries and infrastructural development.
The Minister assured the team "The government will provide all assistance for the investment in Bangladesh".
He said that Bangladesh is keen to formulate bilateral investment protection agreement linking the country, the release added.
"The direct flight is targeted to increase trade with Bangladesh as there is ample opportunity to invest," M Rifat Hisarciklioglu said.
