Directive to distribute Khas land among landless

Officials concerned of Land Ministry have been directed to distribute undisputed agriculture Khas land among 101 landless families in each upazila by next June.
Minister for Land Mohammad Rezaul Karim Hira issued the directive at the coordination meeting of the divisional commissioners while reviewing the development activities of the ministry in the city Thursday, reports BSS.
The meeting was told that 5,028 acres were distributed among 13,642 landless families against the total of 1,77,907 acres of agriculture Khas land in 436 upazilas.
Besides, realisation of land development tax, management of tea gardens, management of Hats and Bazars, land survey, land survey tribunal and formation of appeal tribunal and other matters were also discussed at the meeting,
Among others, State Minister for Land Advocate Mohammad Mustafizur Rahman, Chairman of the Land Reform Board Abdur Razzak and Chairman of the Land Appeal Board ABM Abdul Haque Chowdhury were present at the meeting.
