Directives issued over study tour, picnic

In the wake of frequent drowning incidents, particularly in the bay, the ministry of education on Thursday issued a six-point directive over study tour and picnic. According to the directives, prior-permission of the head of the respective educational institutions, informing the local administration about the tour venue, giving students knowledge about the spot are needed ahead of the study tour or picnic. Besides, a responsible teacher must accompany the students during their tour and they will have to abide by the local security rules. In case of large scale study tour or picnic, the education ministry will also have to be informed about the tour, according to a news agency.
