Friday, 19 June 2015
A college student has been sued in Gazipur on charges raping a disabled schoolgirl.
The mother of the fifth-grader filed the case against the student of the Bhawal Mirzapur Degree College at the Kaliakair Police Station on Friday night.
Referring to the case, Inspector Rafikul Islam said the alleged rape took place in a village six days ago.
The victim was in police custody for medical test, the police officer told bdnews24.com.
He also said police were looking for the college student.
Villagers said the accused brought three girls, including the victim, to a house behind the school luring them with mobile phone games and television last week.
He then took ‘illicit photos’ and ‘shot videos’ of the children and tried to rape them.
He threatened them that he would show their family members the photos and videos if they told anyone about the matter.
On June 13, he allegedly raped the disabled girl. The two other girls were also raped, locals alleged.
The disabled girl told her mother the following day and her father complained to a local leader.
The elders of the village fixed several dates for an arbitration, but did not hold it, as family of the accused tried to cover up the matter, the victims’ family alleged.
