Disappearance, secret killings deepened public concern in BD

Though official figures show that the law and order situation was almost static during the outgoing year, the growing incidents of disappearance and secret killing had been the major concern for the public towards the end of the year, reports UNB.
Even though the law enforcement agencies denied such incidents, Home Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun told the media on December 14 that she ordered the law enforcers for carrying out proper investigation into the secret killings.
As human rights groups voiced concern over the growing incidents of secret killings, the Human Rights Commission has asked the Home Ministry to provide it with a report on the missing people.
