Disaster training for youths stressed

President M Zillur Rahman Wednesday observed that providing modern training on disaster preparedness to young and local people is important in disaster risk reduction, reports BSS.
"Participation and cooperation of all concerned especially local people and the youth is imperative to reduce disaster," he said in a message on the eve of 'International Day for Disaster Reduction (IDDR) 2011' here.
Therefore, the President said this year's theme of the Day "Making Children and Young People Partner in Disaster Risk Reduction' is appropriate.
