Disciplining traffic rule violators

Dhaka is one of the most populous cities in the world. It has numerous problems. However, the violation of traffic rules has recently reached an unprecedented level. On a daily basis, one can see many instances of traffic violations on the roads of Dhaka. Speeding, reckless driving, lane indiscipline, illegal parking and failure to use indicators have become common incidents, reflecting a widespread disregard for the rule of law.
Pedestrians and cyclists, who are already vulnerable road users, are particularly at risk due to the chaotic traffic. Traffic police personnel seem ill-equipped to deal with the traffic violations taking place every day. So, immediate action is required against the traffic rule violators.
