Discussion on \\\'managing non-performing loans\\\' held

Agrani Bank Limited and Financial Excellence Limited jointly organised a Focus Group Discussion on “Managing Non-Performing loans” in a citry hotel Saturday. Economic Adviser to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Dr. Mashiur Rahman graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, Former Governor of Bangladesh Bank, Mr. Alauddin A. Majid, Chairman, BASIC Bank Limited, Dr. Hafiz G.A. Siddiqi, former Vice Chancellor, North South University and Professor, Emeritus, BRAC University, Professor Abu Ahmed, Economist, Professor M. Shamsul Haque, Vice Chancellor, Northern University Bangladesh, attended the programme as designated discussants. Dr. Badiul Alam Majumder, Secretary General, SUJAN, Mr. Nazmus Salehin, Managing Director, Standard Bank Limited, Mirza Aminur Rahman, Director, FinExcel and Mahbub Mustafizur Rahman, former DMD, Pubali Bank Limited took part in floor discussion. Syed Abdul Hamid PhD, FCA, Managing Director & CEO of Agrani Bank Limited presented the Keynote Paper which contained the area of NPL & it’s effects on the profitability, causes of NPL creation, strategies for managing NPLs, preventive measures & curative measure, etc. Syed Abu Naser Bukhtear Ahmed, Chairman, Financial Excellence Limited presided over the discussion session and acted as the Moderator. Chief Executive Officers (CEO), Managing Directors of Different Banks, Financial Institutions, Insurance & Leasing Companies, Educationists, Bankers and Print & Electronic Media Personalities attended the Program and participated in the discussion. After discussion program, the Chief Guest distributed dividend of the company for the year ended at 31st December, 2013 to the stakeholders of Financial Excellence Limited, said a statement.
