Dispute over land leads to fratricide in Bhola

BHOLA, Dec 7 (UNB): A man was beaten to death allegedly by his elder brother following a quarrel over a land-related dispute at Gutpo Munshi village in Sadar upazila on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Babul Paloan, 38, a resident of the village.
Quoting family members, police said there had been a longstanding dispute over the ownership of a piece of land between Babul and his elder brother Siraj Paloan.
They locked into an altercation over the issue around 10:00 am.
At one stage, Siraj stabbed Babul indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot.
Siraj went into hiding after the incident.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Mobaswir Ali, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, confirmed the incident.
