Agitating Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) activists attacked its headquarters in the city’s Naya Paltan on Sunday hours after the members of the recently formed central committee took control of it. The agitators, demanding the disbanding of the new committee, attacked the JCD head office around 2pm. Members of the JCD’s new committee, including its president and general secretary, were inside the office at the time of the attack. Witnesses said several hundred JCD activists, equipped with sticks and brick chips, had gathered in front of the party office and stormed it. At least two bombs were exploded. Apart from sporadic hurling of stones, some JCD activists were also physical assaulted. The agitators raised slogans denouncing the new leadership of the BNP’s student wing, according to bdnews24.com.
