Distribution ceremony of the British Curry Awards (BCA) 2009 will be held on November 3 at Battersea Evolution, Battersea Park in London in association with Barclays and sponsored by Shinepukur Ceramics Ltd.
"This year we are taking part in the awards as category sponsor, paving the way for a Bangladeshi brand to enter into the United Kingdom and European markets more extensively", said Rizvi Ul Kabir, chief operating officer of Shinepukur Ceramics Ltd.
"It has been termed as the Oscar award in the UK curry industry, which now covers more than 12,500 restaurants and employs almost 100,000 people and has an annual turnover of 3.5 billion pound sterling," yearly," he said while addressing an press conference organised by Bangladesh Brand Forum (BBF) at National Press Club in the city Tuesday.
Among others, founder of BBF Shariful Islam and Additional Vice President of ATN Bangla Tasik Ahmed also spoke.
