Fourth seed Novak Djokovic crashed out of the Artois Championships after losing to Frenchman Arnaud Clement, reports BBC.
The Serb had looked on course for a quarter-final place when he took the first set easily but 14th seed Clement fought back for a 2-6 6-3 6-4 win.
Fifth seed Ivan Ljubicic was also beaten 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 by Nicolas Mahut.
Top seed Rafael Nadal wrapped up his rain-delayed 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 win over Max Mirnyi Friday.
Nadal will now meet unseeded Frenchman Mahut.
The quarter-finals will be played later on Friday although early play was hit by a rain shower.
