DMC hall closed after BCL infighting

Shaheed Dr Fazle Rabbi Hall of Dhaka Medical College was declared closed sine die on Thursday evening following a clash between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) that left 11 people injured. Campus sources said the followers of dormitory unit BCL president Humayun Kabir Sumon and its general secretary Fahad engaged in an altercation in the afternoon over the joining of some Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal men to the Fahad-led faction of the ruling Awami League’s student wing. At one stage, both the groups locked into a clash around 4:30pm when a chase and counter chase took place between them, leaving 11 BCL men injured, according to a news agency.
