DMCH test confirms indigenous girl gang-raped

Doctors at the Forensic Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in a test found the evidence of gang-rape of a 22-year-old indigenous woman in a moving microbus in the capital on Thursday, reports UNB.
Chairman of the Forensic Department of DMCH Professor Mohammad Habibuzzaman Chowdhury said the doctors have found the evidence of gang-rape through the medical test conducted on Saturday.
The other medical reports, including the test for determining her age, will be available within a week, he said.
Amid protests by various quarters seeking the arrest of Pahela Baishakh sex offenders at the University of Dhaka (DU, the indigenous woman was gang-raped in a moving microbus in the capital on Thursday night. She filed a case on Friday afternoon against five unidentified miscreants, seeking justice.
Quoting the case statement, sub-inspector of Bhatara Police Station Khurshed told the news agency that the Garo woman was dragged into the microbus by the miscreants from Kuril Bus Stand around 9:30pm on Thursday as she was waiting for transport to return home after the day's work at a showroom in the area.
After the abduction of the victim, the microbus kept running around the locality and the miscreants, numbering five, raped her one after another.
