"The car owners will need to send short massage service (SMS) to 8787 from any cell phone operators to enjoy the service," DMP joint commissioner (traffic) Mahbubur Rahman said, adding that they will sign another deal with the telecom firms on December 17. He said they will initially start the service from later of December on a trial basis. "The service will be in place for all in the last week of January," the barrister-cum traffic official said. According to the new service, the posted traffic sergeants will use electronic device on the traffic rule-violating car and the printer-like device will release a slip containing with exact fines and case description. The slip will be handed over to the car authorities before seizing legal documents of the vehicle. "The sergeants will only include the information of the vehicle and type of violation in the machine," Mr Rahman said.
