DMTCL earns one-fourth of average revenue on election day

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) earned about one-fourth of its average daily revenue by keeping metro services operational on the 13th national election day.
According to data, DMTCL received over 100,000 riders on February 12 against an average of over 400,000 riders. However, the ridership prior and after the election days was recorded over 96,000 and 75,000 respectively.
Although DMTCL did not disclose its daily operational cost yet, it earned Tk 4.6 million on the election day, whereas its average daily earnings is nearly Tk 20 million. Revenue on the pre-election day was Tk 4.3 million and after the election day was Tk 3.4 million.
