A mobile court was conducted in the city's Paikpara area of Mirpur in the presence of DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam, who was taking part in a campaign to create awareness about the ongoing dengue situation.
During the campaign, the mayor instructed the DNCC mobile court to take due action after he found construction materials like rods, bricks and sand kept along the main road and footpath illegally.
Following Mayor's directives, DNCC Executive Magistrate Persia Sultana Priyanka led the court.
Talking to the media, Atiqul Islam said they went to the spot for taking measures against Aedes mosquito breeding ground, but they found the building materials left haphazardly causing water logging.
"No one is allowed to leave building materials on the streets. All entities-- be it a public, semi-public or private one-will face stern actions if required," he said.
He highlighted the role of city people to help check spread of dengue.
