DNCC pulls down 400 illegal shops at Mirpur

The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) evicted on Wednesday around 400 makeshift illegal shops and other structures from the city's Mirpur area.
They also recovered over 40,000 square feet area from the illegal occupants for the convenience of commuters in the city.
Led by Executive Magistrate Sazid Anwar, a DNNC team conducted the drive and Mobile Court along the streets stretching from Mirpur Section-1 Mazar Road to Sony cinema hall from 11.00am to 2.30pm, a statement said.
The city authority also evicted an illegal plastic market from near the Muktijoddha Market and a vegetable-market.
DNCC regional executive officer Saleha Binte Siraj, Ward-8 councillor Kazi Tipu Sultan and other officials were present during the drive.
The DNCC will continue its eviction drive and Mobile Court against the illegal structures in the coming days, the statement added.
