DNCC’s special cleanliness drive from next month

Newly mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Atiqul Islam said on Sunday the DNCC authorities will begin a special cleanliness drive from next month to build a green and clean city, reports UNB.
He also directed the authorities concerned to remove all kinds of graffiti, advertisement, posters and festoons from the walls and electric poles of the city.
"I think, participation of all is necessary for building a nice, pollution-free and clean Dhaka," he said at a press briefing at North Nagar Bhaban in the Gulshan area.
He also urged the city dwellers to decorate their roofs and balconies with flower or green trees.
The mayor also announced discount in the holding tax for the house owners who will have green roof tops and balconies.
Meanwhile, every shop owners were directed to keep at least two flower pots and a waste bin in front of their shops for the use of general people and keep the footpaths free for people's 77movement.
The building owners were also asked to operate their work by following construction rules.
