DNCRP fines Chawkbazar business entity Tk 0.2m

The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) carried out a drive in the capital's Chawkbazar area on Sunday.
A team, comprising DNCRP's Dhaka office head, Md Abdul Jabbar Mondal, and two other officials carried out drives at different business establishments.
The team raided a business entity in Chawkbazar named 'Siam Pacakaging' and fined Tk 0.2 million for selling sugar, biscuits, chips and other items by illegally using other food companies' brands.
The DNCRP has been carrying out drives as per the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009 to protect the interests of the consumers, said a DNCRP statement.
