DND is now out of danger

NARAYANGANJ, July 7 (BSS): The Dhaka Narayanganj Demra (DND) irrigation project is now out of flood danger with the removal of water logging caused by torrential monsoon during the last couple of days.
According to DND pump house sources, a total of 24 pumps are now working round the clock to discharge excess water from the project site through riverside main canal.
Of the 24 pumps, 4 are main pumps each having the capacity of discharging 128 cusecs of water per minute while the rest 20 pumps each having the discharge capacity of 5 cusecs of water per minute.
The sources said, the water level inside the project is now flowing at 2.15 metre below the danger mark.
