Doctor found dead in city home after burglars tie him up

A homeopathic doctor has died after burglars broke into his house and tied him up in city's Rajabazar area, reports bdnews24.com.
The incident occurred on Monday night at a second-floor flat at Rajabazar.
The victim was identified as Anwar Ullah, 66.
According to police, a group of burglars entered the flat and tied his hands and feet. They also wrapped a cloth around his face.
Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station chief Monirul Islam said: "He was tied up by the burglars, and his face was covered, which led to his death."
The body has been taken to Square Hospital, he added.
The double murder took place on Dec 8, 2025, when 48-year-old Laila Afroze and her 15-year-old daughter Nafisa Lawal Binte Aziz were found dead with their throats slit at their home.
Laila's husband Azizul Islam filed a case with Mohammadpur Police on the night of the incident.
Azizul is a physics teacher at Sunbeams School. He had been living in the Mohammadpur flat with his wife and their only daughter for about 13 years. The family hails from Natore.
On the day of the incident, Azizul left home in the morning as usual for school. He returned earlier than usual because exams were underway.
Around 11:00 am, he found the bodies of his wife and daughter. Hearing his screams, neighbours rushed to him and informed the police.
Four days before the killings, Ayesha Akter had joined the household as a domestic aide.
