Doctor ‘commits’ suicide

A doctor allegedly committed suicide by consuming excessive sleeping pills in Sylhet city’s Baghbari area on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Joy Goswami, a physician of Goswami Arogya Clinic in the area. He hailed from Jamalganj upazila of Sunamganj district. Family sources said Joy fell ill after gulping an overdose of sleeping pills at noon. He was rushed to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 2pm, according to a news agency.
