Doctors attack journalists

Doctors at Dhaka’s Sir Salimullah Medical College and Hospital, better known as Mitford hospital, have attacked newsmen of a private television channel Ekushey TV (ETV) Saturday.
ETV’s chief correspondent Mahathir Faruqui told bdnews24.com that reporter Ilias Hossain and cameraperson Manirul Islam went to the hospital to prepare a report.
Intern doctors attacked them, broke the camera and later held them hostage at the hospital director’s office.
Two other ETV news teams, working in the area, rushed to the hospital. Faruqui claimed that they too were attacked and the doctors also broke their cameras.
The hospital authorities, however, claimed that the issue was resolved.
The issue was resolved after a discussion between senior officials of ETV and the hospital authorities, he added.
