DoE drive against factories producing fodder of tannery waste

The Department of Environment (DoE) in a drive on Monday destroyed 28 cauldrons and chimneys, and 7 feed processing machines for producing poultry and fish feed using tannery waste in the city’s Hazaribagh area. A DoE team, led by its executive magistrate M Selim Reza, conducted the drive at different factories that are producing fodder using poisonous tannery waste in Hazaribagh Beribadh and adjoining areas at about 11:30am. During the drive, it was found that poultry and fish feed was being produced at the factory using tannery waste which is harmful to human health. Later, the team destroyed 28 cauldrons/burners and 7 feed processing machines, according to a news agency.
