DoF implementing freshwater lobster cultivation scheme in N region

The Department of Fisheries (DoF) has been implementing freshwater prawn and lobster cultivation extension programme in the northern region for the last two years, reports BSS from Rajshahi.
Sources said, the programme has been taken with an aim to enhance prawn production to meet up its gradually increasing demand.
DoF, under the programme, has so far brought 125 entrepreneurs, farmers and hatchery-owners under need-based training programme to acquaint them with modern technology of lobster cultivation.
They were given training on mix-culture, nursery management, paddy-cum-lobster cultivation, and demonstration nursery management as part of the training programme.
