TOKYO, Oct 31 (AFP): The dollar hit a new record low against the euro in Asian trade today as investors waited nervously to see whether the US Federal Reserve will cut interest rates as expected, dealers said.
A Bank of Japan decision to leave its super-low interest rates unchanged had little impact as it had been widely expected, they added.
The euro hit a record high of 1.4450 dollars before easing back to 1.4437 in Tokyo afternoon trade, against 1.4439 late Tuesday in New York.
The dollar edged up to 114.73 yen from 114.64 while the euro was at 165.58 yen after 165.53.
