Dollar steady in Asian trade

TOKYO, Dec 19 (AFP): The dollar was steady in subdued Asian trade today as the market monitored efforts by central banks to ease a credit crunch, dealers said.
They said players were also waiting for a Japanese interest rate decision later in the week although no change was expected, dealers said.
The euro was flat at 1.4416 dollars in Tokyo afternoon trade from New York late Tuesday.
The dollar was changing hands at 113.34 yen after 113.36, while the euro slipped to 163.25 yen from 163.43.
