Donation for constn of AUW seminar room

FE Report Renowned business woman Mrs. Monowara Hakim Ali made a donation for US$ 36,000 (BDT 27,30,000) as donation to the Asian University for Women (AUW) Chancellor Mrs. Cherie Blair at AUW on Thursday evening to construct a seminar room at the University's permanent campus site, said an AUW press release. AUW's permanent campus which is currently under construction is spread over 140 acres and situated in Pahartoli, six kilometers away from Chittagong city. Mrs. Monowara Hakim Ali is the Director of Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) as well as the Founder and President of the Chittagong Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and has recently been appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Chittagong. She is also the Chairman of Genetica Bangladesh Limited and Intraco CNG Limited, and a member of several organizations working on socio-economic issues. AUW will name the seminar room after her in appreciation of her generous contribution.
