Donation to Chief Adviser's Relief, Welfare Fund

Various government and private organisations and individuals Tuesday donated Tk 16.25 million to the Chief Adviser's Relief and Welfare Fund for the country's flood-affected people, reports UNB.
The individuals and representatives of the respective institutions and organisations handed over cheques and cash to Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed at his office.
The institutions, organisations and individuals that donated the money included the President's Office, the Chief Adviser's Office, Anti-Corruption Commission, Pri-vatisation Commission, Sonali Bank, Employment Bank, Bangladesh Krishi Bank, Mutual Trust Bank, ICDDR,B, First Security Bank, Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bangladesh Frozen Foods Exporters' Association and Bangladesh Scouts Thakur-gaon district unit.
ACC Chairman Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury handed over cheque for Tk 0.10 million equivalent to one day's salary of the officers and employees of the Commission.
A total of Tk 10,55,49,911.87 was directly handed over to the Chief Adviser for the Relief and Welfare Fund in four days since Saturday.
The National University authorities have decided to donate one day's salary of its teachers, officers and employees to the Chief Adviser's Relief Fund in aid to the flood victims.
Officials and employees of Youth and Sports Ministry decided to donate their one day's salary to the Chief Adviser's Relief and Welfare Fund for the country's flood victims.
The ministry also asked the district and upazila-level officials of Youth Development, BKSP and district sports offices to keep in touch with local administration round the clock and cooperate with them in helping out the flood victims.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Administrative Service Asso-ciation handed over a cheque for Tk 0.20 million to the Chief Advisor's relief fund for the flood victims.
