Don\\\'t create hurdles for examinees: Nahid

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid has appealed to all not to do anything that disrupts the ongoing SSC examinations. He was speaking to reporters after visiting Motijheel Government Boys’ High School on the first day of Secondary School Certificate and equivalent tests on Sunday. Examinees under eight education boards sat for their Bengali (compulsory) first paper, Easy Bengali first paper and Bengali Language and Bangladeshi Culture first paper respectively from 10am. Students under Dakhil Board took Quran Mazid and Tajbid and those under vocational board appeared at Bengali-2 creative test. As many as 1432727 candidates are taking the tests in 2942 centres. Nahid urged political parties, organisations and individuals to refrain from any activity that hinders the exams and creates problems for those appearing in them. He said students were well prepared for the exams since this time there was no agitation, shutdown and blockade. “I have spoken to the students, they are not worried. All of them will perform well in the tests. The number of students has increased and dropout rate has come down as well,” the minister said, according to bdnews24.com.
