Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim said on Sunday the health condition of BNP chief Khaleda Zia remains well as specialist physicians did not find any major ailments after medical checkup, reports BSS.
"A three-member team led by Dhaka civil surgeon made a medical checkup of Khaleda Zia two days ago. The specialist physicians did not find any major complications," he told a discussion at Institution of Diploma Engineers in the city.
Mentioning that they are always empathetic with the incident of getting ill of Khaleda Zia, the minister said, "We are always enquiring about her health condition. We have taken all-out measurers. She remains well."
Nasim, also Awami League presidium member, urged BNP not to spread rumour as it will not bring any better thing.
Bangabandhu Academy's Dhaka city unit organised the discussion marking the 5th death anniversary of former President Zillur Rahman.
AL advisory council member Advocate Abdul Baset Majumder, Dhaka City South AL General Secretary Shahe Alam Murad and its Publicity and Publications Affairs Secretary Akhtar Hossain, among others, addressed the discussion chaired by Bangabandhu Academy city unit president Humayun Kabir Miji.
Nasim called upon BNP leaders to seek votes from people for their party for the next parliament election shunning criticising AL and spearing falsehood.
Recalling memories of Zillur Rahman, the minister said the former president and veteran AL leader devoted his entire life to materialize the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Rahman fought for the betterment of working class people until his last day of life, he said, adding that Zillur Rahman is a name of ever-remembered politician in the arena of pro-Liberation War politics.
The minister said the people will always remember the devoted politician for his outstanding contribution to the nation.
