Don\\\'t think Bangladesh \\\'babes\\\': Gavaskar

Soon after teenager Mustafizur Rahman’s brilliant pace battered Indian batting to guide the Tigers to historical series win over India, India’s legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar said Bangladesh, no more the ‘babes’ of world cricket. On Sunday, 19-year-old fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman ripped through the Indian batting to take 6 wickets and guide Bangladesh to an easy series victory at Mirpur. In the process debutant Mustafiz reached a magnificent landmark of emulating Zimbabwe’s Vitori by achieving two cowinning five for on one-day internationals (ODI). Bangladesh won the first ODI on Thursday last by 79 runs, thanks to another five wicket haul by left-handed bowler Mustafiz who played his first ODI on that day. Complimenting the Bengal Tigers, Gavaskar said that the ‘baccha’ of world cricket have now grown up. “The Bangla tigers played much superior cricket than India, who struggled to put on a show with the bat,” the Indian batting maestro told NDTV in an interview. The former Indian captain said this victory means a lot to the Bangladesh fans who have been loyal to their team for all these years. Earlier, Gavaskar said, “It is not a surprise that Bangladesh won the first ODI against India.”
"Over the last couple of years, Bangladesh have improved a lot," he added. With Sunday’s 6-wicket win, Bangladesh also cemented their place in the 2017 Champions Trophy.
