Down trend at twin-bourse

The country's twin-bourse - Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - witnessed downward trend in early hours of trading on Wednesday, the 4th session of the week. DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, dropped 28.27 points or 0.54 per cent to 5,205.54 after the 1st 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11am. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, lost 10.37 points or 0.52 per cent to 1,961.67. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) declined 7.47 points or 0.60 per cent to stand at 1,226.07 points. DSE turnover stood at Tk 1.11 billion when the report was filed at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 67 advanced, 107 declined and 43 remained unchanged. RSRM Steels was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 145 million changing hands till then followed by Heidelberg Cement, Beximco Pharma, Beximco and Saif Powertec. The port city bourse – CSE – also saw downturn in early hour with its Selective Category Index, CSCX, losing 54.08 points to 9,753.00, also at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 33 gained, 59 declined and 13 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 69m.
