Downing Street to fly the flag for England

Thursday, 10 June 2010

LONDON, June 9 (AFP): British Prime Minister David Cameron said Wednesday he would fly the flag of Saint George above his Downing Street residence during the football World Cup to show support for the England team.
During his weekly question and answer session in the House of Commons, Cameron, who has been busy trying to find efficiency savings since taking office last month, was asked if he would fly the England flag.
"I can say that at no additional cost to the taxpayer the flag of Saint George will fly above Downing Street during the World Cup," he told lawmakers.
