Downpour makes life miserable in Ctg

Heavy downpour has caused severe water logging in Chittagong city. Public transport system has been halted for hours as most of the roads went under water.
In waist-high water, people are seen commuting on rickshaws and cycle-vans.
Monsoon’s low-pressure caused the downpour from Thursday night to Friday morning. Heavy raining submerged Chakbazar, Baklia, Badurtala, Bahaddarhat, Sholoshahar gate number 2, Muradpur, Halishahar, Agrabad and several key roads of the city.
Due to landslide, a wall collapsed near Probartak roundabout. But, no one was injured in the incident.
 A senior official of Patenga meteorological office Bishwajit Chowdhury told bdnews24.com,"326.2 mm of rainfall was recorded from Thursday 9 pm to Friday 9am."
" Warning signal number 3 has been hoisted.
Chittagong city authority said that they would soon evacuate vulnerable people living in the foothill areas.
