Dozen bombs blasted in Paltan area

Some miscreants exploded at least a dozen crude bombs in Paltan area in Dhaka city on Thursday evening, the 1st day of Jamaat-e-Islami’s 2-phase 72-hour nationwide hartal (shutdown). Locals said, unidentified miscreants exploded 12 crude bombs Purana Paltan Mor (intersection) and Baitul Mukarram National Mosque around 6pm, sending a panic wave in the area. However, no injury was reported in the bomb blasts. Being informed, police rushed in and opened fire in the air to take the situation under control. Additional police force have been deployed in the area to avoid any further trouble, according to private TV channels.
