DPDC signs two contracts

Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited (DPDC) signed two contracts on Wednesday to ensure uninterrupted power supply to its clients in Dhaka city.
Six power substations and new power distribution lines will be installed under these agreements.
The contracts were signed by company secretary (deputy secretary) Md Asaduzzaman on behalf of DPDC, vice-chairman Subrata Dutta Gupta on behalf of the joint venture of Larsen & Toubro Ltd and Energypac and deputy managing director Abu Baqar Siddique on behalf of the joint venture of SPTDE and Riverie Power Limited, said a press release.
Under the contracts, construction of six new substations, capacity enhancement of an existing substation and construction of power transmission lines will be done.
When implemented, the power supply will increase to 480 MVA at 132KV level and 525 MVA at 33KV level in the area under the DPDC.
