Dr Kholiquzzaman takes over as PKSF chairman

Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, an eminent economist and president of Bangladesh Economic Association (BEA), has been appointed chairman of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) recently.
He is a member of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize winning UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) team.
Dr Ahmad was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2009 for his seminal research and action-oriented work in the field of poverty alleviation.
He received his BA (Hons) and MA degrees in economics from the University of Dhaka.
He did his PhD in economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), London University.
Dr Ahmad is also the chairman of Bangladesh Unnayan Parishad (BUP), a multidisciplinary research organisation, according to a press release.
