Dr Mamun new chairman of ICMAB Dhaka Branch Council

Dr Syed Abdulla Al Mamun and Safiul Azam have been elected the chairman and vice-chairman respectively of the Dhaka Branch Council (DBC) of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) for the year 2022.
Muhammad Nazrul Islam and Shahana Parvin have also been elected the secretary and the treasurer respectively.
Earlier, Dr Mamun has served as vice-chairman and secretary of the DBC.
Dr Mamun is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the Bangladesh Rating Agency Limited (BDRAL).
He is also the independent director and chairman of Audit and Finance Committee, Board of Directors, North-West Power Generation Com-pany Limited (NWPGCL), and independent director of FAS Finance and Invest-ment Limited.
He earned his PhD in finance from the School of Management, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand.
He is also a Certified Sustainable Reporting Specialist (CSRS), Institute of Certified Sustainability Practitioners (ICSP), Indonesia.
Safiul Azam, the newly-elected vice-chairman of DBC, is currently working as the Director (F and A) and Company Secretary, Popular Pharmaceuticals Limited. He was the treasurer of DBC in 2018 and Secretary in 2020.
Muhammad Nazrul Islam is working as managing director and CEO, Sandhani Life Finance Ltd.
He was the treasurer of DBC in 2019.
Shahana Parvin is working as senior finance manager at icddr'b.
