Dr Mohammad Mansooruddin Women\\\'s College achieves cent per cent pass rate for third year

Since its inception, Dr Mohammad Mansooruddin Women's College at Kachua upazila in Chandpur district has been the pioneering academic institution. Meritorious students of the college this year also were successful in obtaining outstanding results in the HSC examination. The college has maintained its top position among other institutions in the district by securing 100 percent pass rates for last three years, according to a statement. Some 600 students of the college were accorded reception on the college premises recently.
The foundation stone of the college was laid in 2009 after the name of Dr Mansooruddin, a famous folk writer. The college got the government approval in 2010. The academic activities in the college started in the year 2011 and the candidates under the first batch of the college secured 100 percent pass rate. The results for the year 2012 shows that out of total 62 candidates six secured A+ (seven from science group, four in business studies and one in humanity group) and the rest passed with 29 obtaining A grades.
A total of 99 candidates took part in the exam in 2013 and of them 10 got A+ grade 60 secured A grade with all passing. Overall, a total of 76 appeared at the exam this year and 12 got A+, 49 secured A grade.
The college was established with the effort of Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) Md Ghulam Hossain and local scholars after the name of Prof Dr Mohammad Mansooruddin, the iconic collector of Bangla folk works and editor of the book 'Haramoni'.
The college started its journey aiming at ensuring women's empowerment with the motto - "Only quality education can ensure an enlightened society." The college is situated on a land of three acres at Hasimpur village at No 10 gate union of Kachua upazila, some 40 kilometres away from Chandpur district town.
Md Ghulam Hossain, NBR Chairman and President of the Governing Body of the college has been giving necessary instructions for running the school to make it successful in attaining cent percent pass rate. Under the supervisions of the Governing Board, study materials like books, uniforms and shoes are given to the students free of cost. The college has a library comprising over a thousand books, science laboratory, high-tech computer lab with 25 computers and five projectors.
At present, some 19 teachers including the principal are appointed in the college to teach some 409 students in the first and the second year. The college has three administrative buildings, a 600-seated auditorium, and a dormitory to house 120 students whose homes are apart.
The Governing Body and teachers do not compromise with the quality education and that is why, the college has been able to maintain a good standard. Principal of the college Taposh Kumar Dutt said a special test of 50 marks is taken on each subject after taking class for thirty days after the admission. The results of this exam is then taken into two parts.
A special monitoring team with the much meritorious students and a separate monitoring team with the rest students are formed. With this, it is possible to develop a special education structure.
One teacher is exclusively engaged to monitor each team of 15 students. The results sheets are sent to each of the parents and their signatures are taken on the sheets. Besides education, group-wise games are also arranged.  The college management arranges six tutorial exams every year and a total of four parent's meetings are held annually. The parents are made alert by sending them progress reports twice in every academic year. Later a test examination is taken and if any student fails, then she is not given any chance.
