Dr Nasir to stay NBR chief for 2 more yrs

The government has extended appointment of National Board of Revenue (NBR) Chairman Dr Nasiruddin Ahmed by two years on contractual basis.
Ahmed, who is also secretary to the Internal Resources Division (IRD), is supposed to go on leave preparatory to retirement (LPR) on October 28.
He took the charge of IRD and NBR in April, 2009. Dr Nasir was the secretary of Ministry of Housing and Public Works prior to his posting in NBR. He is a member of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) of 1981 batch.
He was also chairman of Rural Electrification Board (REB).
A brilliant student of Economics, he did his PhD from Sydney University of Australia.
