Dr Piash Karim passes away

Eminent educationist, social scientist, economist and researcher Prof Dr Piash Karim died of cardiac arrest at a Dhaka hospital on Monday. He was 59. Family sources said Dr Piash Karim passed away at Square Hospital at Panthapath (West) in the city this (Monday) morning. Hospital sources and his relatives said Piash Karim breathed his last at the hospital at about 5:30am. Dr Piash Karim, who was a professor at BRAC University, was taken to Square Hospital after he fell ill at his city residence on Sunday night, according to private TV channels.
