Dr Shahidullah\\\'s 129th birth anniv today

Today is the 129th birth anniversary of noted educationist and internationally-acclaimed linguist Dr Muhammad Shahidullah, reports BSS.
On the occasion, different socio-cultural organisations have chalked out elaborate programmes to commemorate this great man in a befitting manner across the country.
To mark the day, Bangla Academy will organise a seminar at 11:00 am at poet Samsur Rahman seminar hall following placing a wreath at the grave of Dr Shahidullah at Dhaka University at 10:00 am.
Shahidullah was born at Peyara village of Chobbish Pargana in West Bengal on July 10 1885. His father Mafizuddin Ahmed was a warden of a shrine.
