Drama festival begins in city Sunday

An eight-day drama festival titled "International French Drama Festival-09" will begin Sunday (April 12) at Shilpakala Academy auditorium in the city.
Alliance Francaise de Dacca has arranged the festival, which includes solo performance, seminar and reception ceremony.
A number of French dramas will be screened round the week during the festival, Alliance Francaise officials said at a press conference in the city Wednesday.
National Prof and Bangla Academy Chairman Kabir Chowdhury is scheduled to inaugurate the festival and Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni will attend the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest.
French Ambassador in Bangladesh Charley Causeret, Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation Chairman M Hamid, Sommilito Sangskritik Jote President Nasiruddin Yusuf Bachchu and Poet Syed Shamsul Haque also will attend the programme.
